Build Together volunteer projects.
Engage | Family & Building Community
"Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much." — Helen Keller
Objective
Empower employees and their families to overcome disconnection by guiding them through collaborative Build Together volunteer projects that forge a stronger, more united community.
Facilitation Strategies:
• Organize a joint weekend build event during Construction Inclusion Week where workers, families, and local community members partner to construct playground equipment or community garden structures.
• Launch a "Tools & Teamwork" workshop where employee-family pairs work together on a hands-on woodworking or assembly project to be donated to local shelters.
• Host a family-inclusive volunteer day focused on assembling essential care packages or safety kits for regional non-profits, featuring interactive icebreakers to build connections across teams.
• Establish a "Build Together" photo and story wall at job sites showcasing photos of employees and family members participating in joint service projects throughout the week.
