Objective
Empower participants to overcome skill barriers and achieve trade excellence by guiding them through friendly skills challenges and trade competitions that build camaraderie and strengthen community ties.
Facilitation Strategies:
• Organize a multi-trade "Skills & Safety Relay" on the jobsite where cross-company teams complete timed, hands-on trade tasks to build teamwork and mutual respect.
• Host a "Toolbox Talk & Trade Challenge" morning session featuring quick, friendly skill-building demonstrations led by experienced tradespeople to share best practices.
• Partner with local trade schools and apprenticeship programs for a community "Mentor & Apprentice Skills Showcase" to foster connections and celebrate emerging talent.
• Set up an interactive "Trade Olympics" event on-site with lighthearted accuracy and technique challenges that encourage camaraderie across different specialty crews.
