"Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending." — Carl Bard
Objective
Empower justice-involved individuals by hosting Second Chance hiring events that overcome employment barriers, connecting talent with meaningful career opportunities to strengthen our community workforce.
Facilitation Strategies:
• Partner with local community reentry organizations to co-host dedicated hiring fairs directly on active jobsites or trade centers.
• Organize "Career Re-entry Toolbox Talks" during site stand-downs to educate hiring managers on overcoming bias and recognizing transferable skills.
• Launch a "Second Chance Mentorship Program" pairing newly hired justice-involved individuals with experienced site leaders for career guidance.
• Host virtual resume workshops and mock interview panels tailored specifically for formerly incarcerated individuals interested in construction trades.
