"Give us the tools, and we will finish the job." — Winston Churchill
Objective
Equip apprentices with the essential tools they need to overcome financial barriers, successfully complete their training, and build a successful career in the trade.
Facilitation Strategies:
• Host a "Build Your Starter Kit" workshop during Construction Inclusion Week where selected apprentices select and assemble custom trade-specific toolkits with vendor reps.
• Launch a "Tools of the Trade" mentorship campaign matching senior craftworkers with scholarship recipients to hand down quality tools alongside career coaching.
• Present voucher cards for essential safety gear and power tools during site stand-downs to remove immediate financial barriers for incoming apprentices.
• Partner with local trade unions and suppliers to co-sponsor an annual tool grant ceremony celebrating underrepresented craftworkers entering the industry.
